The Code for Sustainable Homes
Sue Spilsbury, RPS Group
Sue Spilsbury was one the first EcoHomes assessors to qualify under the new The Code for Sustainable Homes (the Code). Now working with the BRE as an associate trainer is well aware of the implications of the Code for business'. The Code replaced EcoHomes in April this year, so how is it different to EcoHomes and how will affect residential buildings of the
future? Sue, presents an overview of the Code and shows that planning for its implementation now will help all those involved in the industry make a smooth transition into Code compliance. Sue also explains what are RPS are doing to help to get different business ready for the Code.

BREEAM for commercial uses
Ian Orme, Rickaby Thompson
Ian will be explaining how the national BREEAM scheme works, what the assessment process and how you can improve your rating. Ian is an Authorised SAP energy rating Assessor through the National Home Energy Rating (NHER) scheme, a BREEAM Assessor, a CIBSE low-carbon consultant, and a leading consultant in the ventilation of buildings.
Sustainable construction through planning

Milton Keynes Council’s planning policy D4 is an innovative and challenging set of sustainability standards that compliment and will help to achieve other national schemes such as BREEAM and the Code for Sustainable Homes. This will help you to understand how best to meet these requirements.
